Cloud 9 Payments

Embedded payments for software companies

Put payments inside your product without becoming a payments company. We board your customers, hold PCI scope, fund them, and answer their support calls. You embed a form and earn on every merchant.

How the integration works

Four steps from signed partner to processing merchant.

Step 1: Board the merchant

Submit your customer from inside your own product. We underwrite them, then board them against a terminal template built for your vertical, so tip prompts, tax handling, and payment options are right from day one.

Step 2: Embed the payment form

One script tag renders card, ACH, and wallet fields in your UI. The card data goes straight to the processor — never to your servers, and never to ours.

Step 3: Store the token

The form returns a durable payment method id. Keep it against your customer record and charge it whenever you need to, for as long as the card is valid.

Step 4: Charge, refund, repeat

One API call per charge, refund, or void. Recurring billing and payment plans are the same call on a timer — no card data is ever re-collected.

Why software companies pick Cloud9

We are the processor behind your product, not a platform competing with it.

You keep the customer

We are the processor, not a competing platform. We do not sell software to your merchants and we do not build what you build.

Revenue share on every merchant

Ongoing residual income for the lifetime of each merchant you bring, not a one-time referral fee. Terms are set in writing before you board anyone.

We scope the integration with you

A technical call before anything is signed. We map the flow against your stack, tell you what your customers can and cannot do on our platform, and give you a straight answer on fit.

One merchant, counter and online

Practices and shops that need a terminal at the front desk keep the same merchant record and the same reporting as their online payments, so your product sees one consolidated view.

PCI scope stays off your servers

Card details go straight from the customer’s browser to the processor. They never reach your servers or ours, and our API rejects card-shaped values on every endpoint.

We answer the payment calls

Statements, funding timing, disputes, terminal problems — those come to us in Chagrin Falls. Your support team never becomes a payments help desk.

What we handle so you don’t have to

Everything between your API call and money in your customer’s bank account.

Underwriting and boarding

Business verification, beneficial owners, bank validation, and risk review for every merchant you send.

PCI and compliance

Browser-to-processor tokenization, published script integrity hashes, and a justification document you can attach to your own PCI evidence.

Funding and settlement

Money moves from the processor to your customer’s bank account. Same-day funding is available; next day is standard.

Merchant support

Named humans in Northeast Ohio, with Spanish and Arabic language services. Your merchants call us, not you.

If you run a business and want your payments and POS to sync with QuickBooks or your ERP, that is a different page.

Partner questions

No. Most partners start with new customers only and migrate existing ones opportunistically, if at all. We will tell you honestly whether a migration is worth it for a given book of business.

The payment flow itself — board a merchant, embed the form, charge, refund — is a small piece of work for one engineer. The longer poles are the partner agreement and, if you need it, your PCI assessment, so start those in parallel. We scope the whole thing with your team on the first technical call rather than leaving you to estimate it.

That depends on the program you choose and is agreed in the partner agreement. Some partners bundle processing into their own tiers; others let us price each merchant directly. We will walk through both on the first call.

They call or text us. We handle statements, funding questions, disputes, and hardware. You keep building software.

Yes. Practices and retailers that want tap, insert, or swipe at the counter use the same merchant record and the same reporting as their online payments, so your product sees one consolidated view.

Splitting funds out of a transaction changes the regulatory posture significantly and is a separate conversation involving counsel. Revenue share on processing is straightforward and is how the program is designed. Tell us early if split payments are on your roadmap.

Nothing. There is no integration fee and no platform fee. We earn when your merchants process, which is the same thing that pays you.

Let’s scope your integration

Tell us what you’re building and who your customers are. We’ll map the integration, model the economics against your actual numbers, and give you a straight answer on fit.
