Three features share one thing: a customer record. Link the customer at the start of the order and gift cards, points and house-account charges all follow that record.

Customer database and loyalty

Every customer record holds order history, a rewards-points balance and any house-account charges. Link a customer to an order by searching name or phone in the Order Details window when the order starts, or with Add Customer during the order. Either way the order earns points.

House Accounts

Since version 286 the tender that used to be called House is House Accounts, and it requires a linked customer. If you had been using "House" loosely, for donations, untracked payments or tabs the restaurant absorbs itself, create a separate custom tender for those. Statements for house-account activity are generated from the Customers module, with credit, limits and balances shown per account.
