Release notes

EPI does not publish dated release notes for every version. The notes below cover version 286, the release EPI described as a major update to workflows, reporting and stability across mobile and web. We add versions here as EPI publishes them.

Version 286

House Accounts

• The House tender is renamed House Accounts and requires a linked customer.
• Create a separate custom tender for donations, untracked payments or tabs the restaurant absorbs, which used to go through "House".

Speed and usability

• Tagging a seat, for an allergy for example, takes one tap.
• Faster menu and web portal performance.

Pre-auth

• A new Pre-Auth Indicator shows authorization status at a glance.
• Open Tab becomes Close Tab once a pre-auth exists.
• Pre-Auth becomes Capture Auth once a pre-auth exists.
• Fixes to refunds, reversals and the reports that track them.

Reporting

• Customer statements come directly from the Customers module.
• Shift reports can be grouped by role.
• The customer report prints from a tablet.
• Account views show credit, limits and balances.

Web portal

• The Orders module shows discounts, service charges and an audit log.
• Orders and payments can be viewed in the portal.
• Printer management upgrades.
• Faster menu rendering and less lag.

Mobile and handheld

• New clock-in and clock-out flows.
• Access-card linking.
• Virtual terminal support.
• One open item can route to several prep-station printers.
