Floor plan and tables

In table service the register opens on the floor plan. Every order starts from a table, or from New Order when it does not belong to one, and the table's colour tells the whole room what stage the party is at.

Floor plan. Service areas and order types across the top, one table shape per section, status by colour, actions on the right.
  • Across the top, the service areas. The demo restaurant has All, No table, Bar and Main Dining; a patio would be another. Next to them sit the order types that do not use a table: Delivery, Take Out and Catering.
  • Tables drawn as circles, squares and diamonds, each with its number. An occupied table also shows the server's name and how long the party has been seated.
  • An action rail on the right. The actions apply to whichever table you tapped last.
  • A legend along the bottom for the status colours and the alert icons.

Table status colours

Floor plan status colours
ColourStatusWhat it means
GreyAvailableNobody is seated. Tap to start an order.
GreenSeatedA party is at the table and an order is open, but nothing has been sent to the kitchen yet.
YellowOrderedItems have been sent. The table shows the server and how long the party has been there.
BlueTip pendingThe card has been run and the ticket is waiting for the tip to be entered.
RedCleaningThe check is closed and the table needs to be bussed before it goes back to Available.
DarkUnavailableTaken out of service, for example a section that is not open tonight.

Four small icons can sit on a table as well: a marker for your own tables, a warning that the ticket has items not yet sent to the kitchen, a printer error, and a reservation.

Starting an order from a table

  1. Tap an Available table. To start an order with no table, tap New Order.
  2. The Order Details window asks for guest count, order type and customer. Search by name or phone number to attach a customer, which is what links the order to rewards points and house account payments.
  3. Tap through without filling anything in to go straight to the menu.

Table actions

Tap a table first, then pick an action from the rail on the right.
